just to add my two cents - i bought a CD in Paris as i passed through it briefly- Mechanik Sounds compilation (very good one) which cost me 20 euros. I live in India and Rs.1000 (when you convert it) for a CD is quite a bit. I bought it cos we don't get new trance releases in India and also cos i want to support the scene in general.
I'm not sure what kind of promotional costs are involved for the label -i.e unlike mainstream musicians who release on the big labels, there are no videos to make, no entourages to pay for, no hairstylists and make-up artists, no fancy dancers in the background, no limos to rent etc......yet the price of a CD is way more than the price of your average Britney Spears CD.
Can someone please explain the logic of this? Anders?? |

Just found this post on a P2P forum :
"i wonder how many people r addicted to ...
can't stop downloading.
must have smthng in queue or i get nuts...
and other thingies like that...
is kind of new cult/religion ?"
Nothing new under the Sun, I know, but the way this statement is innocently and abruptly made makes me chill. Does anyone still care for the music ? |
