In audio post projects I often set up stem/subgroups for the music and effects with a comp patched in as an insert. Then I bus the dialogue off to them.           http://www.whatacunt.co.uk/

That's just the way it is with the TC Native Compressor/Sidechainer. It's borked; working borked but still borked. I'd suggest the db Audioware sidechain compressor instead.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

I sidechain percussion loops to each other sometimes. Pad to a kick of course.. Chain a reverb on a send to a kick.

I use a lot of sidechain gating. Sidechain gating is the bomb diggity. Chain a pad to a lead. Wow. Chain anything to your Kick+Bass and set the gate right, instant 16th gate when you've got a straight 16th bass going.

Naturally for most advanced work sidechain compressors (like db audioware) are better           http://www.beatport.com/release/cross-the-atoms/1042450
