Was just starting this thread to see what kind of sidechain compressors vst or hardware people are using to produce psy, I am using optium Fx Compadre Vsti

FL peak cotroller
either direct on volume , on single eq band , or on compressor treshold (and regardless it can controll anything that accept midi messege)
also it can mute the input or not , so you can use the track regular kick channel or open new ghost if u rather.

cool topic !!
i use the tc natives sidechain bundle ,,
lets also discuss various sidechain methods/techniques ??
like the various types of elements that can be sidechained to each other , like kick ---> bass ,,,drums --> pads etc etc
i have only tried the kick to bass sidechain till now,, but i love how this technique keeps the dynamics in full control
listen to hokus pokus - vupti ,,, very good example of diff sidechained elements ,, sounds very clean and pumpy |

fl peak controller is easiest method .. along with TC native bundle .. side chainer on kick , de esser on bass , but u can sidechain almost anything , not just limited to bassline , tho im yet to figure out on what else it may work good .. any ideas ?

Why can't I activate the key input on my TC Native de esser anymore.It just decided to stop working one day or have I de-activated something ?

This is a bug in TC Native. If you save the project, sometimes the link between the compressor and sidechain send breaks. Save the compressor settings as a patch as the name of the song in case it breaks again, its quick to find again) close and re-open both the compressor and sidechain again and reapply the patch you just saved. |
