there are a infinite amount of ways to do a live pa,
from software to hardware and an unlimited combination of the two.
most of the time when you get a piece of equipment you have to figure it out yourself with only (if you are lucky) a badly translated manual to help you.
We have all taken completely different paths in the way we do our music live.
I use roland mc 307, the 909, and the korg electribe esx 1 to play patterns.
the 307 controls the dark star xp2 synth to make leads.
each track uses multiple patterns on all the machines.
so when I play live I can mix patterns together like a dj mixes records but with a lot more freedom.
for example; the 307 plays the lead of one track with its drum work playing hi hats and such, the korg playing samples from another track, and the 909 playing drums and bass from yet another track.
from there I can go into any of the three or keep mixing parts of tracks for the whole set.
this approach allows me to use the same patterns for years to come, for they will never be played the same way twice.
I believe that we have a lot to learn from each other so I would like to hear how other people do their live sets.
I would also like to hear and see the sets as well.
