Self explanatory
Anyone upgraded their DACs for their monitor chain?
Something I am considering. |

I got the Lavry black da.
I was very happy I got it back when I had a proper studio. I'm still happy I have it, just need to move to a place where I can work normally.
The monitors are PMC tb2s.

I had a delta 10/10 and I have a Quattro kicking about. I now have a Digi 002 rack. Big improvement from the m-audio. The Quattro is awful. The Lavry was a big step up for you. I hope I can take such a step next

I went over from using the Delta 1010 to the Focusrite Saffire. Much better DACs on that one and I am not talking simply about the higher conversion rates.

Yeah in hindsight the 10/10 was pretty shite. |

I've never owned either, but I heard a blind A/B comparison between the Lavry Black and Benchmark DAC1 at one point. The DAC1 is not at all worth the price..it's pretty and all, but the sound sucks compared to the DA10. Every Lavry product I've heard has amazed me. Highly recommended.
I just built my second with a Cirrus CS4341A, and it has a similar sound to the DA10 from what I can remember. Very detailed, and great imaging.

I kinda want a DAC and decent monitor control in one.
But don't want to spend too much...lol
Yeah the Lavry will be on my short list.
Also been looking at the Dangerous Music D-box. Which is also a summing box. |

Presonus Central Station is what you're describing too..only $600, but I haven't tried it.

I wouldn't consider the Central station in the same league as the Lavry or Benchmark for conversion. |
