It's subjective question (if we're talking about music).
Something can be psychedelic for me and not psychedelic for you.
Also, something can be psychedelic for me today, and not psychedelic for me tomorrow.
For psychedelic I understand: That induces or stimulate the occurrence of "psychedelic state" = altered states of awareness, maybe with hallucinations, distortions of perception and occasionally states resembling psychosis.

I think that every art can be psychedelic if you look from "under drug influence" state of mind on . Nowadays i don't realy see any psychedelic music in our psy trance scene so can't find the line . Psychedelic for me it was something creative , sound different , unlogical but fit . NOw all music sound the same from U2 to Eskimo. |

there are a lot of good producers that still make good psychedelic music...all u have 2 do is search and good ears

try Pelinpala's new album for something psychedelic....... its a funky ride in the right direction.
full_on is right, its a personal thing.
I believe artists these days have refined this psy sound to such an extent that they now identify and concentrate their efforts on ONE dimension of the sound (in many cases).... some go for groove: like the french guys.... some go for rolling basslines and massive breaks: like most of the Israliens.... some go for the power warp-oriented sounds: like alot of the russians. (this is all just my opinion)
these days, all psytrance isn't psychedelic...... at best, most of it is a little psychedelic.
some.... and this is different for all....
is what u can call truely psychedelic music.

Psychedelia in any music depends upon the capability of the music to twist ur mind.............
differs from person to person
what i may find psychedelic u may find cheeesy and vice versa
its true that these days very little music is psychedelic........
if i may let me recommend a album>>>>>high level of psychedelia
