Hey guys I want to know your oppinion.... what do you think about the lak of thought that goes in to the chill out area of the big events and some of the small ones here in Brasil.
Explaining by lack of thought I mean lack of a decent place with a decent line up and all...

Yes and No .... some of the events i have attended here in Brazil have had super deco and a killer chill out line up ... eg Ypy Poty 3 years ago was insanely decorated - pure killer !!! one of the best chill outs i have seen anywhere in the world !!!! and great LIVE acts too - very organic !!! Tranceformation and South Orbit put in a lot of effort too ...... BUT ...... i have also been to some where there is NO deco .. NOTHING !!! and no chill area .... infact one of the chill out areas had people camping in it !!! ????? I think its down to the promoters ... some really believe that a festival needs deco and some wont even put it in their budget ??? so yes and no ....individual promoters choice i presume .... Psy art i think is also quite new to South America - i believe with time deco / chill out here is gonna be killer !! there is so much inspiration all aroud here in beautifull Brazil ... and also many psychedelics in many forms to give a little push ......

Hey REx... well I was not acctully thinking about the festivals, because they usualy have Nice chill outs, but more about privets and even bigger events like Psychogarden, Magikland and so on....
My impression is that there is less and less attention given to that every year.... I hope its just my inpression...

I agree with you. there's a lack of chill out in lots of events in here.

in my opinion it's because some party promoters are more concerned with money then with people's well being.

to put up a chill out is easy and with low costs. lots of good DJs would play for free or for a few bucks.

there's no excuse.

it happens a lot in here, belo horizonte, and lots of people complain.
the parties will not last that much if people can have no rest, right? and besides, chill outs have there own positive way of contributing with the scene.

definetely the lack of chill outs is the promoters fault...
why to worry about that, if that wont draw that many people(at least thats their ideology)
and when some people try to do it is like this:

"to put up a chill out is easy and with low costs. lots of good DJs would play for free or for a few bucks. "

which is unfair, we, chill out artists have costs and need to be supported better by the promoters

the only one day parties I have being in Belo Horizonte which really took care of that were the Soma events, beatifull deco, great food and always good artists, and I know for sure that to do it wasnt that cheap and easy.
It takes time, effort and love to do it well.

while I was living there got to a point that i gave up on playing on other parties, the promoters pay you sooooo little (when they pay) that the artists dont even make the money for the blank cds...to not say to buy original music and support the artists which are producing downtempo music....

chill outs shouldnt be seen as any area where people can go smoke, but another ambient, it has its own energy, and promoters have to learn seeing it as important as the dance floor, because it is....

thats my point of view...

peacefull vibrations for all...

a lot of chai, charas and chill out for all....           a human's mind, once stretched, cannot go back to its old way

dear kyma,

I guess you missunderstood me.

I know it's not fair to say that artists in chill outs would play for a few bucks or even for free. But it's true.

I was just saying to the promoters there's no excuse for not having a chill out area in the events.

Time is passing, the scene is growing and people are now starting to know better all different kinds of sound and different artists other than only the "famous stars on the dance floor".

It will take some time but I believe chill out artists will be considered as important as the others.
Your time will come.

let's all start to ask for that to happen soon.

that's just my opinion.

This "lack" problem it´s happening in maaany places except places with culture of chilled music like...England basically(an only almost ).
A solution is to make a party and a chill-out organized by different colectives in the same party...that´s what we do for example.
