It’s a good movie - not the best war movie -just a good.

The Hurt Locker was released in 2008 - So why just now he wins all these awards? Where was this movie in 2009? In a coma?

So, what do you guys think of this movie?
I really enjoyed the intensity and literally sat on nails the whole time. Not sure how well it depicts the realities of war and I guess it's not that accurate, after all, this is a Hollywood film. As in her earlier movies as "Point Break" and "Strange Days" this one is once again about males, male bonds and male's violent nature. Kathryn Bigelow really loves to dig there and this movie is no stranger. I see how this snatches all the Academy Award this week and I guess it will be fair for the most part. The lead actor really lives his character on the screen and sure does deserve the trophy.
I'd give it
9/10

This is a very good Movie. "The Hurt Locker" is not a typical Hollywood Movie. It is independent production and not a commercial blockbuster. The budged was 15 million if I'm not wrong. The writer is a journalist who was at the war zone. He also wrote" In the Valley of Elah ".

There is no political message here. And thats good!
"The war is a drug" - that’s the whole Idea.

And it steals all the Oscars. So predictable you could see it from miles.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

It deserves the Oscar more than Avatar. But not more than "District 9" or "Inglorious Bustards" Which was the best Movie (Imo) in 2009 And should Also get the Oscars for Direction and The Script.

I loved it. Great dialogue. I think it gives a good snapshot at life in a warzone, and hows theres many different personalities. I also like how it didnt feel pro war or anti war.

Best picture maybe pushing it a little though, maybe it was a slap in the face from the academy to tell the directors to work on their scripts more damnit.

Id have to say District 9 or UP for best movie
