I have seen the 3 LOTR films more than a 100 times.
The Hobbit: the story and tempo, well I was dissapointed. It was far too predictable and the film has so many loop holes.
WARNING!!!
SPOILER
Why didn't Gandalf use the eagles in the first place? They drop everyone off right far away from their goal. WHY???
The fact that no ones dies was just too much for me. The chase scene inside the Ork lair was like an Indiana Jones movie.
I gave this a modest 7/10 just for its visuals !

I didn't mind the first Hobbit so much but couldn't believe what they did with the second one, such digression from script and characters not in the book appear out of the blue, and that too without any real part to play. and WTF was that about romantic encounters between Elves and Dwarves !?!?
Looks like another producer is pushing their own cast to try and make it a blockbuster... ended up being completely busted. Shameful remake.

Now I have plenty more to say about this piece of crap movie, since I just finished reading the book.
I understand that they adapt the story for the screens, but c'mon. Peter Jackson is pushing it. The guy is just a money lover and wants people who didn't actually read the book to feel amazed about the story. It's such a big blockbuster formula, effects, dungeons scenes and love stories. Gimme a break!!
Crap, crap, crap! Let's see how he ends the thing now...
