Getting a professional sound and the idea that changing one thing changes everything percussion can be a struggle but idea to try getting drums/percussion "talking" to each other helped also an LPD8 helped using the pads to tap out drum sounds helped me a lot agree with Makus trying to write tracks that will be right on the dancefloor and can mix well I find difficult also working out how lead lines written I found take a psy track and slow down to see how done helped I struggle with EQ and mastering but I'm sure will come in time.

Well when I think about it, my learning curve started with my first encounter with Cubase on an ATARI ST in the mid/late '90s...that's like 15 years of messing around in a studio. Then went to university to properly study audio tech. I took my time and made sure I just enjoyed things. Some people just want to rush to the stage of making killer tracks and some do end up getting frustrated, which is besides the point as far as I am concerned.
Just take your time, the destination of killer production is not what is important, the journey of learning new things, getting excited by sound design, drum programming...etc, to the destination is what is important.
Peace out.

could not agree more on that!

Getting all the frequencies covered. I can't really mix leads, pads and bass all at the same time, don't know what I want them to sound like. |

Making the final mix sound perfect and making sure there's proper flow throughout the track seems to be a hard task for me. |

Maybe hardest thing is to get/keep the idea as same from your head to daw. Or getting right groove/swing to the track.
Music is freedom, so everything is really up to you. I dont think that we all shoud be mixing tracks same way. Maybe one hard thing is to keep it going your own way, try to keep your own flow and trust yourself.

Probably arrangement for me, especially percussive and "rythmic" SFX, pain in the ass.

don't give up dude !! sometimes if we listening to much at one track we can,t listening that well and our concentration is gone ! start a new project and come back later to your track !! if you got parts what is bothering you try to eq ( percussion and other )play around with compression and just listening clearly , put some delay on percussions and filter a bit out of the unwanted freqs i use fabfilter and can see where the problem is ! cut it and boost a bit where the clear tones are ( not to much ) and scan also sounds what cause distorsion in your mix patience is the key ! i find learn step by step ! some jump to much to one to a other skill ( example mastering ) learn first eq , compression , and slowly to the mastering ! that's make it so interesting to make psy ! you hear yourselve grow and thats a blessing already the rest will come on your way !
