The best thing Simon ever did was releasing the "La Caixa/El Marriachi" 12" on Twisted records!

I respect him fully for the things he has done for the trance scene and his "completely out there" productions skills. But I never really got into his music style...too much whishy washy trippy sounds for my liking.
Having said that, LSD is still one of my favourite tunes ever...Even Dwarfs is somewhere in there too.           Me>You

Sorry but isn't that the whole point of psytrance?           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

To you maybe it is. But I'd rather dance than stroke my chin if you know what I mean.           Me>You

Then why psytrance? Shouldn't you go for techno or hardtrance or something..? Less "confusing" sounds, more straightforward beats..           "The dinosaurs became extinct because they didn't have a space program."

indeed !

It is very hard to say what his 'best' work is but the whole 'Twisted' album is really something special... My favourite tracks of his are probably 'and the day turned to night' , 'crescent suns' and 'under the overtones'... and 'shwazz'            - - It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice... - -

Because there is (used to be rather) lots of solid driving psy-trance that is psychedelic without being too wishy washy. Techno/tech-house I really like.
Hardtrance I don't like, hence I don't like full on.
My favourite artists include Kox Box, Tristan (and the stuff he has done with others), GBU, Shakta, Biscaya, old Man Made Man stuff, Slinky Wizard, Cydonia, Purple & Ronan, X-Dream, Bubling Loons, old(er) Planet BEN, SBK, Antidote, Allaby, old stuff from Dado, Logic Bomb...you get the idea by now.

to me his masterpiece is and day turned to night.
the amount of programming on that track is almost inhuman and its the only 20 minute piece of music outside classical music ive ever heard that doesnt sound like 3 seperate songs or doesnt have 10 minutes that could be taken out. It just sounds like a single musical idea that could only be expressed fully in such a long track.

The album that I most thoroughly enjoyed by Simon was The Lone Deranger. I can't express the connection I feel with this album.....Maybe I smoke too much !
