I would be very curious to see if it will affect the quality.

...don't ask me why or if it just due to lack of CPU power forcing developers to use lesser algorithms for native.

Native systems are more powerful than most DSP systems. Just see what the developers write:

The new flexor will have much more complex synthesis methods that weren't possible on scope, and a completely revamped user interface, dedicated on making modular more friendly, intuitive, and usable as a musical instrument. It will have 64bit precision, and will support all sampling rates. ho, and no polyphony restrictions ;P.

Indeed!
Shame they are dropping support for scope 5 though

Sure there are limitations with scope, but there are other limitations to VST or AU, and that's why it's nice to have both.
Of course since they now are making a native version I doubt they would say that it will be almost as good as our current product
What I'm hoping but not 100% confident in is that basic stuff like oscs, envelopes and filters have the same quality as in the scope version.

They did mention that it will support DSP systems as well. I'll be curious to see what systems that will be...I hope it's not TDM anyway.           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

There we go..finally someone with a little bit of sense.

You people are comparing viruses and nords to zebras and other VSTi's..
It's like comparing a green apple to a greener apple!

I nowadays use my Dave smith evolver for almost every sound ,except the bass wich i get from the alien 303 and kick wich are usually wav.
Once u get into the routine of a synth the limitations are like none.

Just playing around with the mod matrix and route signals to different lfo's,filter's and so on will get u really cool results.
I used to use alot of different synths, better to stick to one or two, nerd the hell out of them, usually helps.
Don't browse to much presets;)

None of those is analogue though.
The original Microwave on the other hand is not that much more expensive but got analogue filters.           (``·.¸(``·.¸(``·.¸¸.·`´)¸.·`´)¸.·`´)

i've just been playing with Sylenth1 (there's a group-buy discount going on) and...

...i'm really unimpressed so far.

perhaps i need more time to really get to know it, but i can't for the life of me ever imagine someone saying 'oh, this is better than my Virus'. why? how? at what tasks?

^ Tried it once..not anywhere close to being worth it for the price imo.

You check out any soft synth expecting it to be better than your Virus?           You believe in the users?
Yeah, sure. If I don't have a user, then who wrote me?

sylenth can be sylenth , virus can be almost everything..
