In June 1979, an unknown person or persons under the pseudonym R. C. Christian hired Elberton Granite Finishing Company to build the structure.[3] One popular hypothesis is that the patron's pseudonym may be a tribute to the legendary 14th-century founder of Rosicrucianism, Christian Rosenkreuz.[3]

The Georgia Guidestones is a large granite monument in Elbert County, Georgia, USA. A message comprising ten guides is inscribed on the structure in eight modern languages, and a shorter message is inscribed at the top of the structure in four ancient languages' scripts: Babylonian, Classical Greek, Sanskrit, and Egyptian hieroglyphs.

The structure is sometimes referred to as an "American Stonehenge."[1] The monument is almost 20 feet (6.1 m) tall if the buried support stones are included, exactly 5.5 metres (18 ft) otherwise[2], and made from six granite slabs weighing more than 240,000 pounds (110,000 kg) in all.[3] One slab stands in the center, with four arranged around it. A capstone lies on top of the five slabs, which are astronomically aligned. An additional stone tablet, which is set in the ground a short distance to the west of the structure, provides some notes on the history and purpose of the Guidestones.

A message consisting of a set of ten guidelines or principles is engraved on the Georgia Guidestones in eight different languages, one language on each face of the four large upright stones. Moving clockwise around the structure from due north, these languages are: English, Spanish, Swahili, Hindi, Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese, and Russian.
1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.
3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason.
5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite.
10. Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.[4]

Anyone here ever heard of these? I just found out about them recently. Some call them the "American Stonehenge". Others think they have to do with a New World Order conspiracy theory.
I did not create this thread to discuss whether or not they have to do with a conspiracy.
I created the thread to bring them to your attention, and to see what you all thought about them.
I am very intrigued by the structure, especially because of the messages inscribed on it and the precise astronomical alignments integrated into the structure.
Thoughts, comments, and discussion, are encouraged and appreciated. Please do NOT discuss conspiracy theories!

You don't want to talk about conspiracies yet you always bring up this New World Order bullshit discussions. Don't you have non paranoid hobbies? May I recommend fishing or knitting perhaps?

Give up dude. This guy is a religious fanatic. He "knows" the "truth" and wants the rest to share his (obviously more correct than non-believers') insight as to the way the world really works with as many others (aka the misguided masses). Notice his deflection, changing the subject. READ THE GOOD BOOK AND YOU WILL SEE THE LIGHT TOO!!!

i think the New World Order is doing a great job. i think they should do more they are not doing enough...they have become very lazy...the chiefs of this organization should carry 4 nuclear bombs with bare hands and someone should through a banana skin...and he should then drop them and then say "oops sorry"

I have not read any David Icke books, but I have posted in his forum, hehe.
I am not paranoid, not at all. I am a very intelligent, rational-thinking individual. I am a medical student, and a biologist, so I am trained to analyze and interpret evidence, and that is what I do.
I am not a conspiracy theorist, because I don't try to theorize about who is conspiring against us. The fact that some people are conspiring against us is not a debatable topic, because there is always someone conspiring against us. Whether it was Germany conspiring against the Jews before World War II, or a business conspiring against its customers to try and make the most profit off them, "conspiring" is just a loaded term that is synonymous with the terms "planning against".
A great example of the daily 'conspiring' that is taking place, is Insurance Company CEOs that are conspiring against innocent patients by enforcing policies which deny patients coverage for pre-existing conditions, just so they don't have to pay out to the patient. This is wrong.
I don't play the "who dunnit" game, because I am not a conspiracy theorist. I will leave that to the law enforcement to find out who did what.
I am simply a scientist, a biologist and a medical student, who examines all the evidence I can, and draws conclusions from that evidence. When new evidence comes to light, I look at that too, because I want to view the most evidence possible so that my understanding of a subject is the most accurate it can be.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, all of you, including the negative opinions as well. I do not consume large quantities of drugs as some of you have implied, I am not paranoid and delusional as some of you have implied, I am a very calm, mature, rational, and CARING being, that is very concerned for the well being of our planet, and the wonderful creatures that live here.
