That was sooo good, even though there were a lot of people, gabage, and tents.
The weather was perfect on 2nd day, the senary was soooo beautiful!
People were nice!
And Skazi was great , Infected MR was like God, Space cat was incredible! and... many people around me checked "Void" They were fantastic! |

The Gathering was killer. I have never been to such a good party. NO fights, NO OD nothing negative. Only peace, love and dancing. The weather was fantastic. The gods are definately on Visionquest side.
My only regret is that they stoped the party on time. Japanese shedulling I assume.
I look forward to the new year party.
Hope you can make it and see and beleive with your own eyes. |

I gotta agree that I was thoroughly blown away by this year's Gathering. I'm still recovering so I don't have energy for a full report yet. The venue was so beautiful and the weather dreamy. What an AMAZING sunrise on Monday morning, with a big white moon opposite, facing the stage. The music, lights, vj, stars, sunrise, green grassy slope, blue sky, friendly people... made for a near perfect party. The dance floor though was toooo crowded for me to properly shake my butt. The views from the slope pretty much made up for it, however. Good one Vision Quest! |

What an awesome party. Lots of people, but I was actually expecting more. A nice vibe for a party of that size. I didn't see or hear of any fights or anything negative. The ski slope around the stage made for a natural ampitheater and the sound and views were incredible!
The highlight of the party for me was Dino's DJ set, taking us into that unreal moonset/sunrise...mind-blowing. I won't forget that one for a long time. |

No offence but you guys must be VERY easily amused.
This had to be one of the worst events I`ve ever attended. Crap sound and bad organisation...and some f#$!ing awful DJs...!!
As a result...a number of us wont be going to another event whilst we`re in Japan.
Give me the quality sound sytems of Europe, Oz and the US anytime AND the DJS....
Metal grunge plus Trance??!!! Now that was crap....more like a cheesy disco..sorry didnt work for me...(especially when it was played about three times over the course of the event - maybe thats the only set he had?!!).
I can understand why many of the japanese liked it - heavy metal/rock are big here..
I noted that some of the folks raving about the line up are from Israel (where a large number of the DJs were from! So I guess their style appeals to those already familiar!).
Since Ive been in Japan I`ve always been surprised at what folks here accept as excellent, brilliant, amazing etc... when in fact its barely up to an acceptable level outside Japan...
Basically, things here are cool not because its good or because they are genuinely into the music..but just because its different.
Sorry guys..thats how me and my mates saw it...
Big raspberry for Vsion Quest!!! |

Maybe you`re the one in a time warp...two years ago!!? What the f"!`k are you talking about?
Byron Bay?...bit of a broad assumption there dont you think?..only been there once as it happens.....
Perhaps YOU can tell us where all the fantastic music is coming from then? it sure as shit wasnt at the gathering......
Sorry, not being fair the major acts were cool....does that narrow it down for you?
The comments were directed at a piss poorly planned and expensive event...
In comparison to events that we`ve been to it was dire....and sorry, those werent just my observations... ok luvie?
ps. were you actually at the gathering or are you just being a wee bit sensitive?
A tip...avoid making broad assumptions about places you know jack about...righty right?
Right right..

otter and morgana,
regrading the music for me , and for most of the people in the gathering it was amazing music....
astrix..gms...juvenille...infected...altom...skazi...void....dino...beat on phobia.(i am officialy inlove with him)... they all rocked my world.
i think that you need to seperate between the music and the production, regarding the music i dont have any complaints what so ever, beutifull line up,one of the best i have heard in my life, regarding the production it is another story, it was very clear that they where not orgenized, it tolk to long to get into the event (only one bus ) and much to long to go out,( i waited for 8 hours),
the sound was not so good , very poor decoration .......not enoghf place in the dance floor...and everything in generaly looked liked it was done in the last moment....poor organization, hope that next year they will do better..... if not , goodbye vision quest...

Didn't they move the location like 1 month before the event? This could account for the lack of organization. I remember at 2002's event there were large buses almost every 45 minutes and plenty of space. |
