Hi all.....this is my first topic here and i'd like to make a point in this discusion.....
The man is obviously one of the many of his kind that want to make a small profit and become known, without spending neither money nor effort in music.
Many psy trance fans believe that being a producer or a dj in this music is a very simple
matter....
And then it is the country that takes all the blame.
But when the motivations are the money and to become known, what can we expect.
Personally,i love this music so much that if i count all the money that i 've spend much money on cd's and recently on equipment...And i am neither a dj nor i expect to become equivalent to wizzy noise within a few months...
What i wanna say is that in greece everyone thinks that everything is easy and the only think that we have to blame is the greek attitude towards us.
Finally i 'd like to point that(according to my opinion) all than someone needs to become usefull to the scene is knowledge, respect, and above all love for the music and it's people...
PS:noone in our scene has become famous without putting too much time, money, effort and passion in his creations |

Greece is a small country but with very big history,
at the past many many times we was 1st,
against very big countrys... i think its much harder
to show your talent in Greece, but with good work
and pation, love for what u do and not for famous or money,
someday u can be at the top,it has happen, it can be happen again, if not? its ok ...u have a great time ,isnt enough?? greeks are very
special and crazy ppl, i believe a randon DJ in
Greece, is much better from a random DJ in UK..
i dont want to bother anyone with this...
its my opinion
keep spinning

Cloudy!!!
I never want psy to grow big and commercial and i dont like to see psy djs that look at it as business.
I like underground like for example seing the natural high djs at tei pirea... dont want to see psy djs ending up like tiesto for example in massive clubs with no spirit.
Keep it underground, DJs do it for the SPIRIT not the money and fame!

Pano, I think you need to put things in perspective. As soon as a DJ/producer makes a living from music, it is business as usual for them. Just because someone combines business with pleasure does not mean the music is going to be "commercial" or sh!t.
There are loads of people (I'd say most people) that are in it for the money and fame man and not just in trance, but in pretty much every genre. Wouldn't you like to make a living doing the thing you love the most in life?
But the lines between making a living and being greedy are dim. Some people can't even being to imagine life without spending £200 on coke a week. So their idea of making a living is very different to the next person's.

Wellcome mate and enjoy the forum
A little bit repost.
We have so many djs, easy enough to be, in greece and very few pro artists because
we are a small country with no music education in schools or even music schools.
We have great musicians for sure on clasical music.
When a young boy/girl goes to a music school he will learn that all music exept clasical is garbage,
so skilled ppl isnt easylly involved with the dance scene.
All these ppl who try to do something with dance needs :
1.Time(Years)for many reasons,music knowledge,production etc
2.Money(Euro,USD) for stuff, computers, monitoring systems, hardware and software in general etc.
Things isnt so easy like some lamers says..
"ohh computer music its easy, anyone can make it",
the same goes to all about music,
is it easy to get a piano degree??
It needs 15 years of work to call someone professional.
That goes to dance too.
Pro greek artists make music from the early days of dance..
so they got all the expierience and stuff needed for being successfull.
(but no money for living)
As about djs..
Sexy girl djs are also needed cause they can bring more girls into the scene.
It sux when i go to a place without women, especially parties.
Its a major reason for feeling good and dancing

You don't need music theory degrees to make dance tunes. Almost everyone who sets out to make tunes and actually releases tracks, knows a few chords and scales, even if s/he can't read music notation. It takes time to get your head around the technical stuff, especially if there is no one to walk you through it in the early stages, but talent and dedication are the things that set people apart, some people have them, some don't.

Basicly thats thats the reason why industry if full of crap music, with no inspiration,no complex scales.
I guess music isnt just whistling some melodies u have in mind.
Even if u have a good pitch brain section, how easy it is to write it down?
Yeah sure there are so many producers in dance that write without knowing even the basics, but how interesting sounds to u my friend "another full on crap compilation"?
Quality is hard to find even more to produce.

Exactly, the jews help each other out, whereas the greeks poke their own eyes out. That is more of a reason than just saying that we are a small country...etc.
On the music side of things. Unless I am listening to John Coltrane flying up and down a tenor, I am not interested in comlex scales, especially when I am on the dancefloor. Call it taste, but in dance music, I consider complex scales nothing more than musical wankery/showing off and when I am dancing, I am dancing to the solid grooves not 15 minor chord progressions. I don't like samey israeli full on either, but just because someone does not have a degree in music, does not mean they are going to make israeli full on...actually most people I have heard about, having music training, are israelis, yet they are the ones that started this whole "cloning" attitude towards music.

well.
As i remember the tunes that got the ppl jumping around was too complex in music and structure indeed.(Ti paizei o p****s!!)
A 20 sec brake with one chord that completes all the 7 min tune,it could be enough musicallity for dance.
For some these notes are easy to find for others not.
There are plenty of names that produces cool music
dont tell me they dont know shit about music
They could havent study to music schools but after so many years involved maybe its not neceserry thing for them to do r8 now
Well, music in general IMO its a great hobbie to do,
but i cant say that all stuff that has a correct bassline are my favourites.
I ve seen stoned ppl to dance with musically wrong stuff, wrong bassline notes, wrong pads, (unbelievable wrong),
thats not a matter taste i guess,i call it a matter of amatheias of the producer.
