No mon....but i"ll tell you again that promoters let the drugs into their parties and promoters in Greece give so much money for dj's.....in Europe one dj-artist takes 500-800euro(maximum) and here they give them 2000-6000euro!!!!Also promoters in Europe don't have 30euro entrance....!!!So think..if you change these things, this scene will have FUTURE!!!            Iono music

My friend Polyester Corespun, MUSIC is passion for me. I've been listening for over 15 years from all kind. Electronica is my favourite now and psychedelic trance the top.
I have a day job and I enjoy playing music to make people dance and have a good time (DJ). I've been listening to a lot of DJ's and I want to show my set.
I know something new. I'm bored by the day job and since music is the best for me what better earning money from that. Everybody wants to do his hobby.
I'm thinking of leaving my job and get into music seriously. I have over 1000 cd, selective, I've bought a DJ equipment and practise.
But you must be a big name here in Greece to live only by that.
The rest you are saying are correct. I have to be better. I'll try and who knows?

You don't have to quit the dayjob in order to get into the music seriously. Reading your post I think you want to quit your job simply because you are fed up with it.
By keepping your day job you can pay the rent, and support your family (if you have one). Also you can put that money towards your music. And nowdays you need to be a producer in order to get gigs. So you need to sort a studio out to make tunes that will get released and people will take notice. Think twice about quitting your job, because if you don't have a healthy financial background, you'll end up selling your DJ gear and CDs to pay the rent and even end up hating the music you so passionately love today.

Dear friend psypunk, I have no reasons not to believe the things you say here about yourself. And I hope you did not get offended by my previous post cause I was rather mostly referring to ‘every you and every me’ than to particularly ‘you’ as a person.
Also, I’m among those ppl who believe that there’s nothing wrong in earning money out of your creative hobby as long as you have the talent, the devotion, the decency of character and the strength to endure. I wish you good luck with everything you decide to do with your job, you’re the only one responsible for your actions.
Oh, and you don’t have to escape from Greece to do your thing, all you have to do is wisely aim for the international market, there are so many examples of artists, djs, labels that are based in Greece and have an international appeal

Psypunk
the real meaning of having fun as a dj will always be blocked by the secret desire to make some cash out of this.
Quit your dayjob and the future is bright and right ahead :
DRUGS and a wasted life is waiting for ya. Mark my words mate

Nexon man...Last week there was a party with infected mushroom in switzerland. The entrance was 35 euros and 1700 ppl turned up. Some europian promoters are following the Greek way...ask them if they will keep on making parties again for the "spirit" or for their "mothers soul"

So if you make parties with low entry the scene will have future???
pfff are you sure....
First you can't stop the dealers from the parties, one way or another they will sell their stuff.
And ....think!!...all the artists take drugs(the 90%) to make music...
Many projects have been destroyed because of drugs, many artists are in special institute because of drugs.
I'm too in this scene 15 years and all this years i see only drugs,15 years of decay.
For what???
It's good to like a music style,it's good to love dj's hobby but not for leaving,no way.
And as Timxtreme said promoters will not do parties for the spirit of their mothers soul.
Money and Drugs it's the key to your music scene.

Come on tim before 5-6 years neraida has 4000draxmes entrance and now 30euro!!!!!!!As for your example infected are infected and we know that they deserve good pay....not like ... who take 10000euro for a live act at neraida!!!!

Sahedelic: Many old trancers stop going to parties for the money and for the ppl who go to parties!!!!Also promoters know the drug dealers and if they want to have agood name and to do good parties they can stop them!!!!            Iono music

If the music you make or play is crap then there is no future. There are too many ppl out there, and most of them wanna dj/produce.

So, get the skills, and realise if you got the talent. Tou gotta have the talent. The rest will flow if you're up to it. If the music is worthy, Greece itself is not an obstacle. I guess no one is dreaming his first live P.A in the shithole somewhere near his hood anyway.

You get the contract, you release your music, people buy online, they like ya, they call ya. It's Europe after all. Those who say that there's no future, are those who realise they're not up to it technically, musically, artisticly.

There is future, only if there is a past, keep that in mind.           Bring yourselves into the light
