i read last month in some magezin about the roots of trance.. few members of "Sheva" band went to Morocco and start the search, very intresthing article ! ! there some tribe in south morocco that still gathers to make the ceremony.
i'll check the name and the date of tha article and i'll give it to ya'

dhrupad - the oldest indian classical style that is still played today (it has about 3000-4000 of writen musical theory) is the oldest root of trance as i know it.
today when it is played people don't dance to it but only listen. while they do they gain a pure trance state of mind (even time and phisical motions are destorted and seems to be slower....)
i think that every human culture ever had this kind or another of trance in it.
u know, nothing is new (it's the same old lady, only she sounds different) |

Have any of you guys heard of Jean Michel Jarre? He started making electronic music in 1967. I think he was also one of the pioneers of the music that we love today.
