acoustic treatment is very important but the room you are in and monitors and listening postion is even more imo, before i moved to my room ,i was mixing in a totally untreated room and now after more than one year in the new room my mix are getting as good as they were but its almost finished treating it with 10 basstrabs/ broadband abosrbers and soon a few more. a good room is still what matter the most in my experience.
i think to really make a good studio the room need to be good from the begining even without treatment with the size ,wall materials and all that but for home studio it s a lot about luck we dont have much the choice so sure treatment can really make things better |

but if you understand how (I don't,I know only it is a lot of knowledge ,formulas and mic recordings) - a bit of mathematics - or you pay enough ,than every room can have the idealtistic accoutics.
Of course without this knowleged wich is almost art (to me),a better room makes the sound always better - for sure.
