Hi there people!

So there is a ton of these hardware multi effects and its really hard to know which to aim for... there are so many price classes and brands...

So is there some standard good one that is worth buying? I need one for doing dubs, its going to be used with my Yamaha Aw1600 and it would be nice to have some hands on a few parameters.. so does anyone know a good, not too expensive unit?

It needs to run in both 16 and 24bit as i do my acoustic recordings in 24bit... but i mainly do my dubs in 16bit...

Cheers

Laptop, soundcard and MIDI controller? The most flexible of all, and you probably already own everything you need!

What exactly do you mean when you say 'dubs'?           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

Hey Colin!

Yeah i got a lot of what i need, i miss a portable soundcard for the laptop though! maybe i should get that instead...

But with this hardware multieffect unit i thought to use for live recording, with dubs i mean putting FX on tracks i already made.. like the classic dub on reggae, but for any kind of music that it can work on...

You know crazy delays and ringmod and such things, the Aw1600 already got 2 FX sends with a varity of different FX... but not so many hands on, just the send and the jog wheel...

but i thought to expand on this, but like you say maybe i dont need nothing more.. but even so if you have any good advice on any good all around unit
it would be cool.. or just a Delay, with lots of hands on, on the parameters...

Cheers and thanks for your time!

I bought an old Alesis GT Quadraverb, it's not the phattest or best sounding effect there is but it certainly has it's moments. However those moments are rare, but it's always nice to look at.

i would also suggest the Electroharmonix Memory Man kick asses full analog delay, or the Stereon Memory man which is digital and also kick asses, a bit more versatile with more features
i use a mono pedal, but really want to get one of these two for my little nord, probably the analog..check them
