The Egg

Profile:

Journeying across a multitude of styles based upon the riskiest verges of the electronica genre, the Egg began to boast their experimentation in the mid-'90s. This British four-piece roused their audiences through complex performances, including film passages at their live shows, therefore trying to reach far beyond the limited compounds of their stylistic selections. Compacting drum'n'bass, jazzy rhythms, and even spatial guitar tones, the group went along its own drawings. The Egg formed in Oxford, U.K., in 1994, composed of bassist Dave Gaydon, guitarist Mark Revell, and twin brothers Maff and Ned Scott, who were in charge of the drums and keyboards, respectively. Electing Oxford's club scene as the first stages for their multifarious spectacles, the band ended up recording their debut album in 1996. Albumen was aided by the production of Joe Gibb, known for his work with the Stereo MCs and Massive Attack. Two years was the time needed for the Egg to record their second album. It was in 1998 that Travelator hit the record stores. Sustaining their high levels of creative engendering, the squad continued to furnish the most crossbred electronic/rock creations. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, All Music Guide

The egg - Forwards , their last album, was released in 2004. Amazing album...including venice beach and lost at sea. plus there is a EP with 2 remixes of "Wall". the mylo remix there is piece of art.
you can get it in psyshop.           Life is too short to eliminate all risks.

stuph is merely their pseudonym, when you see them perform as "stuph" they basically jam out a lot more than they would do as the egg...also their shows, from my experience, as stuph/stuff are more simplistic in terms of visuals etc, ie: stuph are the egg minus the visuals, usually playing smaller, intimate gigs on a more freeform basis, whilst as the egg they pull out all the stops, amazing visuals included...how this band have escaped the attention of the mainstream i don't know...

Was it Stuph that played at Solipse 2001? I know most of the Egg were camped near us - good lads (and lass!) - and they'd just set up anywhere & started playing

at solipse it was ned and maff, the 2 twins who form the backbone of the egg, and they are freaking good lads with good minds for speaking and absorbing absolute nonsence...

um, personally i think every song they've ever made is beautiful or funky as sin, just buy all their albums: albumen, travelator and forwards and there will be something for all the family i guarantee, i never play a set without dropping an egg tune or 2, funky or chilled...i know its a bit useless but ned played me a tune the other day that they are currently working on, which will be on a similar, if more meleancholic tip...absolutely beautiful and so moving...have you heard "venice beach" by the way? i reckon if you like "lost at sea" you'll like that...i can't remember their website address but its not so hard to get or order any of their albums from high street or non specialist stores...and if you can find their ep: mellowmania that's a corker too..good luck, goodbye.

PS: 4.9k (soon to be 6.1k) mackie active rig for hire: 07891865089 (based around london, wales, dorset)...husto please don't remove this because i strayed from the path...the main body of my text is related to chilled music so..., ciudado...
