Moonclear, are you physically limited to perform labor? Sounds like you've got some intellectual strength, why not put it to use? In other words—get to work! As much as this country has one of the most developed social care services in the world, it equally offers a myriad of employment opportunities, even in critical times such as now.

You are talking about USA or what? If so I would disagree and say one of the least developed social care services for a first world country.

I can't compare it with many other countries, perhaps you are right, it's not good enough for a first world country, and here I am just quoting what Moonclear said: "The United States has as far as I know the most evolved social services/benefits system in the world."

If Moonclear believes that it is true, they should take advantage.

I remember one morning i was working the vendor tent, and this feller came up to me, and started asking "what happened last night?... I thought it was a rave...but it wasnt no rave...it was like.....you know what I mean???It was like a rave but totally wasnt....it was like some kind of church for ritual techo dancing"....knew we were doing things right as he slowly walked in no particular direction at all with his head cocked back as if he were drinking from an overhead waterfall, smiling as intensely as he could at the sun, as I think he hadnt told the sun how much he appreciated it in a long time, if ever and was trying to make up for his prior lack of apparent appreciation.... empty handed, but, I assume, completely mindful

That's awesome

The thing is (I think) that you want to attract those people who are ready and able to take that leap and discourage those who are not ready. If each person that had such an experience as in your story was accompanied to the party by 3 vibe-killers, it would not work out too well...

Not saying it is easy to do that...

yea getting the right kids to the party is always interesting, you want to be open to everyone but you want to encourage participation and good energy.

still I think that alot of people are wallflowers the first time and then once they get the hang of things and get over the unreal nature of the party they are like a fish in water. I know I was blown away at my first party.. then once I figured out how to dance to it I was good to go.           .:.vaxination.:.

HAHAHAHAHA!! Man I'm poor too and in the same boat when it comes to parties. but why bitch about it on here? Lemme guess its because your a girl and you think people will let you into partys for free cause you have a pussy. I AM SO SICK OF THAT! The clothes I wear are the same clothes i've had since high school and i'm about to be 25 in march. SO WHAT!! But I still go to parties looking as unfashionable as ever cause when it comes down to it, its all about the music. Fuck clothes. everyone should just be naked. Fashion is the dumbest industry and the biggest money wasters. When is there gonna be a naked psy party with naked tourist and psysex!???

I gotta requote this:
'Lemme guess its because your a girl and you think people will let you into partys for free cause you have a pussy.'

1. I have to say I'm offended. Is this one of those ppl who thinks that the clothes of panhandlers are their fashion statements? or some such thing? I'm not going to sit around any longer remonstrating that my poverty is genuine; with this person's objectionable post I have found a window into gender equality no Aga Khan could deny.

2. fashion model is a legit job; many models are very nice ppl whom many admire and support; a number of models have naff problems yet fortunately there are many professionals at this job just like with any other job and I personally would never dis models out of hand. Furthermore models do go to parties and I always welcome them, they bring a degree of style and class no one else could. Again, ALL ppl's legit and harmless jobs have the support of the law esp in these tough economic times.

3. I have been going to parties since '95 and posting to trance forums since a little bit after that and I have rarely encountered such prolonged nudist rants as followed this post, I feel for those who went before me, who were probably women, like me, and I hypothesize that the reason for the prolonged nudist rant is that the ppl who engaged in them tend to know who I am and of them a certain percentage are stalking me into prostitution, which is something I don't want.

The ppl who are waving off this levelheaded and substantiated assertion of mine need only recap the offensive words twice quoted above. I would have more experience than they and so my main rejoinder(s) is(/are) and shall remain that I neither have nor spread any disease, not now, not for money, and not ever, and that I do not belong to the Republican Party in any way, that I reject all of the Republican Party in every particular, and furthermore that I have never voted for a Republican and God willing never will. I am a credited trance person, as all those like me can now easily tell.

I have a good deal many more important things to do with my life right now such as reviewing various important messages of mine about the many real problems in trance, which do include poverty of partygoers and also various credit card issues. I was raised in a ghetto and so I am glad I outed the guy for the real issue above and I confidently expect never to be sexually harassed or molested on this forum ever again.

I'm sorry I offended you but I'm sick of hearing sob stories. If you read everyones post then you would see there are many ways to go to partys for free or a lower price. Everyone is poor right now. Thousands of people are loosing their jobs every day. If your disabled and can't help out to get into partys for free then I'm very sorry for what I said and I take it back. To be honest tho, you don't make a whole lotta sense. your poverty is genuine?? wtf does that mean? Also I never said wearing crappy clothes was cool. I said I dress unfashionably because I am also poor. My whole point was there is no reason to tell people that your poor on here. The world is cruel and I'm sure nobody gives a fuck cause we r all in the same boat. And trying to say I sexually harassed or molested you is fucken BS. I still can't believe you pulled the molestation card on me. o yea, your a girl. duh

hmmm, without reading the whole thread, here is a word for you, and everyone else feeling challenged by our current economy:
freakonomics.
get creative, stay outside the mainstream economy as much as possible, that way when it crumbles all around you are are in a better position to "keep dancing" and at the same time support your community.
network, work together, find solutions for the multitude of problems out there. Be proactive, stay positive, keep it flowing!
Start thinking about the things you do have, the more gratitude you express, the more things you actually have to be grateful for.
create a new system, one that actually works for you. its happening, people do it everyday and succeed.
peace!
