Agreed, though the thing with the Logic Bomb (older tracks), Dickster and Tristan is that you get the whole dancefloor exploding thing whilst the beat was on and the music was pushing your mind as well as body higher and higher. A state of hypnotism...a state of trance basically.
This new thing is like looooong breakdown...wait for it....wait a bit longer.......here it comes-kick bass drop! and then 20 seconds later its like, ok I'm bored now nothing interesting is happening any more...guess I'll have to wait another few minutes for the next track with a long breakdown...or maybe I can just head to the bar and get something to drink, go for a walk in the woods...etc.
Not ranting against anyone or anything, people make the music that they like and dance to the music that they like, which is fair enough, if that makes them happy, I'm happy. Just trying to get a discussion going as the OP, suggested, instead of simply rant on about cliche Bill Hicks samples, dubstep having no place in trance tunes, this being "psy" prog music for people that don't listen to psy-trance...etc...etc.

My thoughts exactly, and i've been seeing a change even in the more cheese full-on, the guys seem to be taking more time before those breaks, maybe this happening because new Goa is coming forward again, and one thing we have to say about good Goa, it doesn't stop Tudo que é melhor e mais superior em mim saúda tudo que é melhor e mais alto em si

I guess the point of this video is not to promote the track itself but to make fun of some artists / styles that are becoming famous lately (Skrillex anyone?).
Well if i was an artist i would spend my time and energy on improving my music or creating a new tune rather than spend even an hour to make fun of people who dont deserve any attention in the first place.
And to be honest lately i have been discovering that there is A LOT of good music out there which you just have to search a little bit because you wont see them published on the facebook pages of your friends or in the charts of beatport. And dont think that i am talking about any super duper rare underground stuff here, i am talking about established artists releasing music in established labels who just rely on their hard work to become slowly famous rather than hiring a management firm in order to become famous overnight.
Ambivalent of Minus Records (Richie Hawtin label), Extrawelt of Cocoon (ex Sprillazianz/Midimiliz releasing on Sven Vath label) and Henry Saiz of Natura Sonoris are just three of the names who release TOP NOTCH stuff on a constant basis.

Ok now that got me melancolic, dunno if people this days would take the time to get involved in something like this.

nectarios what you just said is THE reason why i hate these tunes, what ace ventura sadly plays - its just aiming for the lowest common denominator, its funny cuz me and my friend were saying the exact words you have after an ace ventura set last year
actually in boom it was worse, not to mention captain hook which made me run away from the mainstage like mad, but ace ventura also "dropped in" some of that annoying dubstep a la captain hook and it just ruined my day, a 3 hour set in which i had to cling onto a track i like, just to be chased away with those lame buildups hands in the air style...
and as you said, and nomad moon had seen in boom cuz we probably experienced the same thing, on the logic bomb/tristan/dickster (and may i add space tribe, avalon, liquid ross and even the first stone to this list) sets, the breakdown/buildup was timed so thatll be an integral part of the track, not just something to expect from the track...
take this for example:
such a powerful and sweeping track... the 3rd day of boom and logic bomb's set specifically are memories which are well etched in my brain the energies that went on the dancefloor on that set were absolutely mad! and the greatest part for me was that it felt like everybody was on the same frequency - i was dancing with a group of say 10 people i hadnt known till that moment and we all just dug our asses off with a big smile allover the face coming at each other and dancing around each other in sync after the music ended our group of strangers just gave a big hug and for me that is the essence of this music and what makes trance so special - speaking without talking

i find logic bomb tunes progression often very intelligent...the sounds the breaks land at perfect time , very smart arangement, very good sense of the dancefloor these guys have.
same for psychaos ,lot of his goa tunes are just WOW the progression ,intelligence of the ararngement is made to send the crowd into orbit imo .
