The difference between psychedelic and psychotic

What do you have to say about that,what would you say is the main differences ? Where do you draw the line between what you call or define as "psychedelic" and what you define as "psychotic" ?

There is no line - these are overlapping categories. Some (but not all) psychotic episodes can be psychedelic. Some (but not all) psychedelic experiences can be psychotic in nature. The real question is where this overlap ends.  |

Psychotic = chaotic to the psyche
psychedelic = delicious to the psyche
that's how i categorize these ..... lol

Psychotic even more disturbed than just chaos, because chaos can be positive but pschotic is a negative state of psyche. Mental Diorder Lunatics schizofreniacs and all this unappy states of mind are psychotic.
Psychedelic at first look looks like a general term that includes all categories but that is psychology.
Psychedelic is rather a positive state of expanded psyche like mind expanding and rather ilumined than downwards in inner subworlds.
That's also only how I see it.

Yes , i agree to a certain degree. Psychotic is more like confusing , deranged and disturbing instead of expanding. The psychedelic state is beyond that. The psychotic state is more common then the psychedelic state and a state of mind we drift into from time to time, just think of all the times that we have not sleept for a long time, when we get very angry , when we are in situations that feel unreal etc.
The psychedelic state is different and can feel psychotic to some degree because it feels so different then the normal state, which the psychotic state also can do.
I would say that there is some differences in them since they both are going beyond the normal state, but i view the psychotic state more as something that often is negative and confusing, and the psychedelic state as something expanding which one can learn and grow from. Although there might be something good with a psychotic state in special situations etc.
