When I DJ in Tel Aviv, everyone says I play full-on. I play mostly Exaile, void, Shift, Mr Paculiar, Audialize, And yes guys, even Skazi and GMS/1200 Mics sometimes. Some even said I play commercial full-on. I find that funny when most people here in Vancouver don't even know what is psychedeic Trance or full-on for that matter. To allot of people it's just techno. It's all a matter of opinion. Where you are and who you are talking to. Personaly, I think full-on is anything that gets the crowd really digging. |

full on accoding to my opinion is not a genre.its just a brevity of the phraze "full on psychedelic trance"which used to stand for tracks with a very long and powerful rythm section.its just a misnomer!

So it seems we are coming to a conclusion here!
Full on is not a style but an expression!
A good shag can be called full on too.
A debate can be called full on.
Even some good ambient can be called fullon especially when all the sounds & the groove are in a good sequence and harmony:
example:If an ambient track has let's say 6 excellent sounds being played at the same time that's all fullon in my opinion.
Downtempo fullon!
And what about Mozart's symphonies?
Isn't that fullon?
Sure it is!

while the origin of the term is dubious, the following from kitnam on another post sums it up well:

- If you are an artist and you want to release music, produce a 143-146 bpm track with a VB-1 bassline, melodic-synth-lines and the typical hihat-snare section. make whooshes and fillins at the breaks and put a nice voice-sample into the mainbreak. The people will call it killer. If you want to release creative trancemusic, no one realy cares about it, so dont be creative.

as you can see, to some people the words "full-on" taste bitter on the toungue. can't say i blame them, considering the clones out there.
btw, kitnam was being sarcastic, please don't stop being creative.
