I usualy give a thorough listen to the cd's that i purchase... And i've been finding that most music nowadays lacks inventiveness, what i mean is that when u purchase an Israeli cd or something from Spun Records or 3D Vision etc... u know what to expect...similar basslines, similar melodies, similar ideas. Don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that i dislike these sounds, on the contrary i'm really fond of them, but it's just that it's not surprising anymore...
However i've been listening to more and more South African artists these days (Rinkadink, Shift, Damage, Phyx, etc), and i'm just impressed by the creativity these guys put into their production... Their sound has lots of different influences, it goes from tribal to techno to disco to groovy to breakbeat with demonic rythms and ever-changing basslines...

If any of these artists reads this topic thx for surprising me each time i hear a new track!!!!           Dreaming allows each and every one of us to be quietly and safely insane each and every night of our lives...

Don't forget Protoculture and Broken Toy (more soft side project of Damage)... These ones are great (together with all the ones you mentioned ).
Keep doing it!
Respect!

...I don't mind not going to Heaven, as long as they've got Coffee in Hell...

hey there

i noticed exactly the same as you bug system. its really good to know that psychedelic trance is so alive and still changing, after hearing Alien Safari reloaded i discovered this fact again.

personally for me the south african style is a turning point in psytrance, they proved that there is a future ahead us, and it seems its going to be pretty nice .

if any of the bands read this, keep up the excellent work, thanks for not doing what everyone does

hmmm, have u heard Scandinavian stuff. Way to go over there to... A lot of funky trippy stuff, bold music. Never heard African stuff, i must sdo so, but, men, you gotta listen to what those guys over there have to say. Stil the tun-chis is a big part of it, but the metric and progressions are somehow cooler, way cooler...
Traveller shared a link, no i pass it on. Scandipsy songs, tons of ti, about 3 gb o more.

Very true... SA is a very positive place for psy trance these days.

If you're new to the whole SA sound, be sure to check out these compilations:

Emergence [Nano] - the one that started it all last year
Bushmartians in Wonderland [PsyStation]
Dilation [Nano]
Clarity [Nano]
Alien Safari Reloaded [Afrogalactic]

Also, I haven't heard it yet, but I expect great things from the upcoming Protoculture album on Nano records.

Keep it up you guys!           How am I supposed to hallucinate with all these swirling colors distracting me!
