Hats off to the organisers for pulling off this event with such little time to sort everything out. There were of course some problems, not least the sound issues on the main stage. Problems are to be expected at any first time event though, and given the short time frame available to get this all together I think the organisers did very well.
I thought the atmosphere throughout was great - lots of very friendly and up for it people making the most of the psychedelic summer camp. The pool stage was perfect for the peak sun hours, though the clear musical highlight for me was the last night/day on the main stage when the headliners started rinsing out their sets.
Just a couple of suggestions for next time - moving the main stage to a lower point in the venue and it would be great if the bus that was organised could leave after the end of the music - was a shame to have to miss shane gobi's set in order to catch it.
Anyways - thanks again to the organisers and all who made this party what it was

Hi Riton, thanks, I'm glad you had a nice time at the festival
About the main stage.. what happened was that the police visited us with a noise complaint around 1-2AM Friday night. They made us turn it down so much, that we could not continue on that stage. Luckily, we had the pool stage, which was more isolated and could be played louder. So we relocated there for the rest of the night. When the sun came up, I took the main stage sound system apart and we moved it, along with the DJ equipment, to a spot facing away from the person who was complaining... So we were able to move back there for Saturday, though we had to watch the volume the whole time.
Nobody was too happy about that. But what I am happy about is that we were able to successfully deal with the police and keep the music going. The police threatened to come in and shut us if we didn't deal with the problem, and we were able to prevent that. So I am very grateful for that because it was such a nice weekend in every other way.
I would assume this happens at 50% of all festivals on their first year at a venue. I can't count the number of main stages I have helped move on saturday morning...

infinite love and gratitude to all who made Coalesce Fest the amazing unforgettable weekend it was!
putting together an event of this magnitude in barely two months certainly presented some logistical challenges, but I think I speak for all the organizers in saying we were very happy with the end result
full recap and pix coming soon.....

THANK YOU PAT!! I'm pissed I missed the second half, but I know it was a ripper. Can't wait for you and Mel's pics. You guys always reign champions of the camera. I filled in for you for Vish and Cris's sets though. ;-)

Thank you for your comments. This first fest was a learning experience, and we take all ideas into consideration for the future. We are always looking to make things better, and sometimes the best ideas come from you (like the World Cup Viewing area)which was a huge hit!
As Patrick said with less than 2 months to plan, organize and put together this event, we didn't expect it to be perfect. In my mind at least, it came pretty close. Any issues were quickly resolved by everyone coming together to help fix them. This was a true family festival, new friends and old. It felt reminiscent of many a Pine Barren morning, and I am truly grateful to PEX and to everyone that helped make this event an amazing start to something fresh, new and beautiful, where in my world there are no "main" stages only stages of great music, and people coalescing, which there was definitely plenty of this past weekend!
Our pictures are posted, videos coming next. Enjoy!!
