there is no special psytrance chord And if there were some typical then all music would be almost same boring.
This would be than a good ocassion to make really something new lol.
Take this one you like the best at the moment you start a song aso.Or make first a melody and select chords that sound good together.
Peace

Pick a chord and stick to it. you dont need chord progressions for psy. Yeah really. its called static harmony. Just use the same bass note over and over.

You can try doing four bars of one note, four of another in the Kbbb sense.
You can put thirds together like K then notes d f. and move those around.
Don't necessarily have to repeat the same note.

I think it's cooler when the bass moves.           www.musicproductionnatural.com || www.facebook.com/djamoeba | facebook page

Psy-cords maybe. Hippies seemed to have a thing for flair type ones back in the day.

First you have to make up your mind on whether you want your track to sound dark or happy like. If you want a melodic kind of psy-trance you have to learn some music theory on harmonics. First learn what a major and a minor scale is.

Major=Happy
Minor=Sad

a major C-scale would go like this:

C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C-B-A-G-F-E-D-C

a minor C-scale would go like this:

C-D-E(b)-F-G-A(b)-B-C-B-A(b)-G-F-E(b)-D-C

E(b) is the black key between D and E. A(b) is the black key between G and A (on a piano that is)

To make a melody hit on these notes one at a time rythmically. Usually if you chose a C-Minor-Scale the first note in your beat would be a C-note, but from there on it really don't matter much. Try out different things and listen for what sounds good. Try picking out 3 different notes in the scale. make a rythmic melody with the 3 notes. Pick a fourth note that you will incorporate in the melody after a few loops of the first melody. Stay with the first melody but introduce the fouth note to the rythm and melody. Pick a fifth note out of the scale and do the same thing to that. That way you can slowly build up the melody. A very common thing especially in trance is to have a bass playing on the main-note of the chosen scale constantly. If a C-minor is the chosen scale, have a bass play the note C a lot! It is not at all forbidden to have the bass play a melody, it is just a common effect, used often in trance, that you can have the bass emphasize the scale-main-note!

An example would be if you are playing on the C-minor scale, to have the bass playing on C, then introducing to the rythm A(b) and G which are both notes on the C-minor scale. Then you could introduce lets say B and E(b) which are also both notes on the C-minor scale. Then you'd be playing on C, E(b), G, A(b) and B which is plenty to have a nice tune going, and you can even jump from different octaves to achieve even greater contrast between notes.

Learn about the concept of consonance and dissonance, which should help teach you how to get the right mood that you're looking for into your melodies.

Learn about the circle of fifths which will teach you how to jump from one scale to another and what scales you can jump to if you're standing on lets say C.

Learn about all the other kinds of scales there are in musics theory, cause there are many more, than simply Major and Minor. But the very first thing to learn is what a Major and a Minor scale is, and there's tons of creative stuff that you can do with using just these to types of scales.

Happy melody-making

Also there are really not many chords in any kind of psytrance! A chord is when you hit different notes at the same time on your instrument, and that rarely happens in psy-trance!
