choose cheesy and common music chords (think of the bassline as the chord) and the melody play just on the chords.

eat a shit load of pills and put on sunglasses

be sure to have at least three (3) posters of Bono (life sized cut outs work too) in your studio

spend more time practicing how you will fist pump to your music than actually making it

be as much not creative as you can. if you feel like you have some insperation and the creativity is comming back then take a break... hear some abba and get back working.
use only magor scale melodies and when you feel you got somthing really empty that just does nothing to you then you know you got something good going on.
