i have been earning some money..and i've decide to buy some pioneer cdj.. but i'm not sure to go with the 100 or the 200.. i have red several similar post.. and i notice a big part of you guys prefer the 100s..but my main concern is that in the guitar center internet page says that the 100 dont play CDR or CDRW..
is that true..? cause to be honest i don't own to many original cds and the ones that i have i treat them as pure gold.. and would not like to play them just to learn to dj or to play at partys.. i would prefer to have then in a safe place and use copys for other ppourposes..

my first cdj plays cd-r's and regular cds just great, doesn't discriminate or anything plays fine. the second has problems with certain cd-r's, especially some random brands, but probably a technical problem. the specs i looked at when i read them said they're compatible with CD-R's, maybe they just grouped CD-R & CD-RW together so went with the negative response.
i've only had personal experience with 100's and vinyl, but they seem to do everything absolutely great. and the ebay route often offers very reasonable prices. although it's hard to tell what will happen a few weeks after you buy one that seems to be in great condition... |

Well because the CDJ100s are an older model I have found that they will not read CDR above a certain burn speed.
With all CD players I have found TDK Gold @ 16x will work all the time.
I would buy the CDJ200 cos of the BPM reader |

CDJ100s are my favourite CDJs. I always feel a little tingle when they're being used at a party I'm playing at. So fluid, responsive and easy to use. I've burnt a few CDs at full speed and they always work fine and cue up very accurately. |

100's work with cd-r but no cd-rw, 200's have a delicate pitch slider, can't seem to get used to it, i'd go for 100's in this pair
Monitoring devices, know where you go
Mass media, total control
Digital delight, desire in megabite
Data overflow, virtual suicide
This information, is disinformation
