hi there again, gotta question about the usage of stereo enhancers, like the psp stereo pack or Wider boy, sonakalsis Stereo tools.
just wondered where and when you would use them to give the sound that extreme depth along with reverb eq etc, would it be on a group send or fx channel, on the main channel, track pan techniques?
any tips and tricks?
also the use of M/S decoding
thanks
i use sonaklis stereo tools, KR-imager, psp stereo tools and elvanty wider boy.

To get nice stereo feel in the track, generally you don't need to use stereoexpanders very much.
Try the following:
1) waves mondomod on individual leads
2) in percussion tracks, load several samples in battery and pan them differently (no hard left or right, 25 - 50 % max)
3) reverbs and stereo-delays!
4) Also it's good to have some very narrow mono sounds in combination with stereo, to help all these things sit well in the stereomix.
About stereoexpanders - the only one i use is steinberg's stereoexpander with a single slider. It just works great, especially when the movement of the slider is automated.

imho if you make a good stereo mix there's no need for it..

+1.
Also monofy the mix to see what it does to it and make su you don't go loosing the stuff you've put the stereo enhancer on.

I would use a stereo enhancer to reach new exrtemes if I really want to. Scenarios I can think of is putting it after a reverb on a send channel, marking that reverb as special. Also can come before the reverb on the send channel, different order, different sound.
But overall, for stereo additions I'd use other modulation plugins, like a Chorus, a Phaser or simply double channels.
