I am looking to buy one asap. Am sick of mousing,
Working mainly in Albino , and Logic plus-ins?
Any recommendations?           -------------------------------------------------

Hey Cannabis, when buying anything (especially music hardware) try to filter out your choices. How much would you spend on a midi controller? Make sure it is durable for home and out, and consider a controller that works best with logic! There is no BEST controller in truth so i'll recommend a couple, try M-Audio or Evolution products, EdirolPCR and the new korg Kontrol49 is also a good choice, and consider a 49-key or more.I'm using EvolutionMK49 with cubaseSX3 for windows and it's great. Hope it helps.... ....check the linkS:

There can be only one...

Novation REMOTE 25SL

No other controller even comes a tiny close to this

Thanks everybody.
I read this review in the future music mag that remote SL's knobs and sliders are kinda cheap and don't feel well and get stuck. Can anybody confirm that?

I have the normal Novation ReMOTE 49 and yes, the knobs and sliders have a bit too much the "plastic-feel", but I really LOVE the keys, nice controller and since it is Novation it has many preprogrammed templates for softsynths and programs and that stuff.
The only other keyboards/controllers I have tried is the CME, which I didn't like playing on, and then the Edirol PCR, and the notes are actually fine, but alot different than the Novation's.
Since I have (And love) the ReMOTE, I wouldn't go for anything else..           //Zeyon.

I am gonna have to say the Novation Remote SL along with everyone else for strictly being a midi controller.

If you want a good all in one type unit, the Novation X-station is also awesome. It has midi ports (in/2 outs/thru), a sound card, and it is actually quite a decent synthesizer as well. the Distortion on it is pretty awesome. And it all run with just a USB connection, including power!!

Unfortunately. It hasn't got the automapping and templates for my VIs. But I thought about it.

The X-station has definitly has preprogrammed templates, I have one. It has templates for Albino, Vanguard, Absynth, the logic synths and prob 20-25 other templates. It even has a Virus template that works with the Virus TI. What VI's are you using that dont have templates on the x-station?

I think your right about the auto mapping, but you can download a ton of templates of the novation website. I even made my own templates for synths that didnt have a premade template (i think one was the Muon Tau Pro)

Cheers!

Is that true?
So I got to do a one to one comparison for these. X -Stations is good news as well.

BTW I use Albino, Vanguard, Imposcar and Logic plugs          -------------------------------------------------

Yeah definitly true. Check out these sites http://88.208.201.18/answerbase/article.php?id=028 and http://www.novationmusic.com/product.asp?id=1&view=downloads&Type=1&bArchive=

One shows you which templates come preinstalled and the other is a link for new templates released later.

I think all the synth you listed that you have do have premade templates.

Hope this helps!!          ~ AnachroniD
