psysex play their own in live perfomance.
you should see yoni on the elctro drums...
but when they play a dj set they play other tracks too.
all artists are like that.
live - their own stuff.
set - mixed tracks.

well 4 sure Oforia (last year in the TDE he gave the best set i've ever heard!)
and also Goblin as a great mixer and a great producer....
And as 4 the proggy scene, the best DJ i've heard was Gula K!!! She defenitly ROCK!!!!!

Yuli back me up on this (Tell them what u used to say untill about a year and a half ago)
But Every Serious DJ is an Artist (Even if he doesn't produce music).

Well Borris, I tryed but it didn't help me much as u can c from this thread...  so first Candy, u tought me a thing or two with yer reply...
About the above issue.. I agree with u Borris but not whole way... Avi Nissim is a very good DJ and that what he was doing b4 becoming Astral Projection.. Same thing about Goblin for instance.. There are many producers who became DJ's as part of necessity ( to play their own stuff ) and their quality as DJ's ( at least technically speaking ) less than 'born' DJ's

Very good yuli.
I agree about goblin being a very good DJ. but not about Avi Nissim (but you know what I think about the Technique of 90% of Israeli Trance DJ's)

Avi Nissim's work on Retro Vol. 2 (his DJ skills whatsoever notwithstanding) was Pretty poor...

I would'nt judge a dj and certainly not avi nissim by the mixed cd he published since its usually done with the help of the computer.
But unfortunately I'll have to agree with yuli also about this-artists need to practice djing these days because the need and demand for dj sets is much bigger than a live act (mostly budget wise)

There is one thing that is very special with Artists that do DJ sets tho... Usually their mixing skills concerning their own music will b much better than any other DJ due to the fact they know them inside out

Well i think Eyal Yankovich is a very good dj,he is one of the few israelis that i have heard anyway.
Ari Linker also knows how to turn a club upside down.
P.S Arent Doof two or one English guys?
Isnt Zirkin a trance artist with an awfull to my opinion album called the dance show?He is also a party organiser from what the cd covers says.
How is Doof and Zirkin connected?

Detox,
Doof no.1 is Nick Barber, who collaborated and still does a lot with Simon Posford and brought us quite a lot of floor thrashers in the past ( Mars Needs Women for instance ) and lovely ambient tunes nowadays.
Doof no.2 is underground party organization in Israhell that runs for a few years and manages to stay true to the underground spirit like almost no one in the scene. Lately 'Doof' project became also a label.
Shahar Zirkin is 'Zirkin' the artist and he is a founder ( or co-founder ) of 'Doof' parties line in Israhell and after they became 'official' label I guess he runs it too.
