well i've never heard Goa Gil, but i still think he's one of the best if not the best hehe..
another one that i also didnt heard are MFG..
but i also think i would have a climax in the sound dimension if i was listenning to a MFG live..

u duno abt Gil dude.....he is the KING.....
he has played for 28 hours non stop at a party.....
keepin the music to the same full on levell......with over 5000 ppl in the party...he is old...but his choice and selection...and connections and etc etc....is mind blowing man...u cannot comment bad about on sum 1 since u havent heard him....u gota hear him buddy he is KILLLER..........

sorry guys, but Goa gil can be a great tripper and have a graet collection (I wish I had half of it), but I have seen he playing over here in brasil. thru 20 hour in a roll, and I could notest that his Mixing technics wasn't that good, and I don't mean to offend but when You see Djs as Paul Oakenfold, Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier playing wiyh 4 vinyl pick-ups at the same time, you start to see the Djing art somethig very valiable.

Last April i orginized a party in costa rica, and i brought goa gil to play in the party, cause i heard all those famous 20+ hours sets stories, and i thought he is a legend, but when he actually played, it was disaster, poor mixing (and i mean very poor), i didnt like most of the music he played, too noisy, not clean, yes he has tons of music, but most of it i didnt like, and his set had no story, nothing to tell, just the same psy noisy full on from the start of the night till the end of the morning, no changes, he finished his set the way he started it, and the same way it was all the time.
in my opinion, a good dj, must know how to mix different styles of music, and to make it sound like a full story when it comes together, he should know how to play with the people, at one point to make them jump like crazies, at other point to make their buddies move with some groove, at some point let their mind relax a little, play some interesting music you can dive in to, and then again to make them jump like crazies.
the human budy & mind is getting borred when you play the same thing all the time, some times a track that you play at home to relax, can be the track that will kill the dancefloor, if you put it in the right moment, the changes in the set are very important to keep the mind of the dancer interested, and also in order to allow the budy of the dancer to keep up dancing for hours.
the mixing skills are also very impotant, not to impress people, but in order to be able to create something new and different then the original track, with good mixing u can actually make live remixes, and to change the atmosphere of the original tracks you are playing, to the atmosphere that suites you right in the moment.
i heard many dj`s and sometimes even if the style of music they are playing is not my cup of tea, i can enjoy it, if the dj knows how to tell a story and to make me interested, he can "teach" me how to listen to his music, and how to understand it, to dance it.
in my opinion dj Goblin is one of the best dj`s i heard, i also liked Domestic & Pixel the last time i heard them.
i am sure there are many good dj`s out there, and i also sure that most of them are not famous.
