The best I've heard were: Carl Craig (Technique and Soul to match), Richie Hawtin (Killer Tech, no soul), Synchro (Probably the best Trance Technitian), Mark Allen and Sasha (The digweed one).

DMT if you think that playing with a laptop is a live act then i am live acting also LOL.
Ari Linker hasnt perfomed yet live here in Greece so i guess its quite wrong to say that he is the best live act out there

DMT my friend at JDF Alien Project was just again playing with his laptop and did a little tricks with the console.
There were no Synths around and you cant have a live without a Synth.In fact the synths were there but the organisers had the wrong sound cards and they couldnt connect the synths with the sound cards so most people played a dj set and only Star Sound Orchestra,3 Point Turn and Total Eclipse used some live stuff.At least thats all i noticed and all that i know since i was there and talked with some of the organisers and artists.
Prove me wrong please
P.S Thankfully Loft club is not RLoad parties anymore as you described them and you should expect great things to take place there from September and on

aaahh david, that was exactly what i was gonna write and you beat me to it. i saw a four hour set of his in a little tent in cambridge once.. every one else was off dancing to some (imo) average drum and bass, so this tent was quite empty, but he just took the people there on an incredible house/techno journey i will never forget (also 'cause i found myself dancing next to mr c at one pt  - he'd been on before)
the best psy dj i've seen is anti i think...
though the thing is, ones appreciation of what people are doing up there changes as you get more into the music etc... i could be overlooking some fabulous sets 'cause i just did not 'get it' so much when i was younger..

Best DJ (psy trance) that I've seen: Bim. Fucking amazing.
Best (non-trance): Paul Oakenfold. I kinda thought he was better than Sasha, and plus NO ONE has that much charisma with a dancefloor...not to mention the haircuts hehe.
