Yes many good french producers are around ... making killa tunes but there aren't good parties or promoters to promote them at all ...
To Seb@mandala, we have already discuss the subject on a previous thread regarding parties and festivals in France, you'll understand more 
Talamasca's french power compilation is going to rock .. he knows good receipe for nice "cuisine" 
To sukanta , indeed Samy (CPU) is a swiss national now living in Barcelona ...

ananda...i live in sf and we throw parties.(thanks again to the french for a fullon new years!!).after going to europe i saw the scene is huge much bigger yet some level of spirit isnt quite there..i did go to some nice parties but with all that KILLER music the parties can be FLYING! one difference is here everyone working is a volunteer and has another job.(at least the ones we do),.sounds crazy but we cant figure a way to bring money and keep the spirit high..it does weird things to humans..while i was in europe i was wondering how to bring that freakish energy there,,maybe burningman festival...gather the freaks and come! survival in the desert (bring your own food shelter etc)mixed with every known freak and of course a week long soundsystem and trancefest!:) of course its not only a trance party but out there anyone can do anything ..there is a level of magic there that translates into the parties all year...trance and nature walk together in the cosmos..they flow off each other.....

You're totally right alienfreak .. this energy aspect quite sounds weird but I think you have experienced one big part of the trance scene nowadays ... coz it used to be different with full top energy 7-8 years ago !!! this sharing attitude is only really seen between real trance lovers .. and in France mostly in the few festivals we had so far !

hey there:) so if its true how do we and i mean us ALL change it..i do not want to see trance go the way of many other udnerground ideas..where is the balance between sharing it with the masses and not exploiting it?..trance is powerful, connecting and healing..i belive its ancient...it can trigger many things..its a tribe..this music moves all around the planet with the seasons in the nature..we cant let it just die and be the next cool fad..it was an incredible feeling on the weekend during the sf peace rally someone set up a renegade system in a shopping cart and peopel of all ages felt the vibration and danced!!! so many people who had never heard it got turned on! trance for peace:)!
ps yes your right i enjoyed the new years you forgot digital talk ..really mandukya is an insane dJ! MENTAL MADNESS!!!!!! pphew!

well, for me it's defintly
yumade/sung as a bug, paps
and all the databass crew.
massive respect for their releases on creamcrop
and cos they have a unique and original sound
and moksha! (are they french?)
I know their releases on POF, and their quality
and originality still, after 5 yrs hasn't been achieved
by many artists.
