Hi !
well my time has arrived to ask stupid questions
so here goes .
what are the stages to build a track ?
i know it probably has been talked to death but still .
yeah i know about build ups and loops etc.
lets say i got my basslines, got the drums ,
leads, got effects all over it , what next ?
(i'm not using much hardware (yet))
i have to arrange it right ?
but for some reason i feel like something is missing, and i can't seem to figure out what it is .
can someone explain, how it goes, how to do it ?
how you guys do it ?

Bye

Not stupid at all.
If you got a bassline, drums, leads, effects, make more sounds to make it sound full. You can use pads (sorta strings), more percussion like hi-hats and snares, extra bassline, more leads...

i mean i got the components for the track, i just need a good sequencer to blend it all together .
for some reason me and cubase didn't get along .
i have no problem writing the music, i have the training, it's just i can't put it all together .

That's the problem with sequencers. Making it all fit togather.
My attitude towards composition is that the specific melody and sound you use are less important than the way you use them.
If there's some musical idea you'r trying to express, you can use
many different melodies and sounds, and the idea will remain the same. The structure - however, makes the skeleton for the idea.
Concentrate on this first, and then decide on which melody will be played on what part, using what sound.
Give it a thought, Maybe you should even write it down on paper first. It's a hard method to implement, but I think it's the right one.

Boris is right. But if you need another sequencer you can try to use Cakewalk.

Ok well its pretty hard to explain how to arrange a song, we had the same problem were we had all the sounds we needed but it would take us forever to actually lay it all out. Its a technique that needs time to master but since you are doing loop based my advice would problly be to start of with something like acid pro witch i think will give you an easier and faster way to lay out your tracks and experiment with different versions of your song and then move to like cakewalk or whatever. just lay out your bassline start the song start building the beat with high hats then snares whatever and then bring in your background sounds then leads etc. just remember the timing 16-32 etc (hehe). good luck man

Hey man..!
Acid pro` is cool and it will work exellent if you also install Soundforge 45 (they work really good togeather!!) It may seem a little basic at first but start digging into it and youll` realise that its a really good secuenser!!
Step by step my man....
