mindstate?
I`m only concerned about beats brother.
I`ve only ever had issues transferring ideas to pc because of lack of know-how.
The moment you get the idea of how things work it all becomes easier.
Once again as bukboy said, learn how to translate your ideas.

i found out recently that the biggest problem while working in the studio is "feeling" your track like your in a party dancing to it. without "feel" your track wont get anywhere. its less about writing down whats in your head and more about knowing what the track needs in order to be interesting on the dancfloor.
so what i do to overcome it is:
1. go to a lot of trance parties and dance.
2.watch trance party movies while producing.
3. dont get stuck on something for hours, its important that the production of the track should flow.
it doesnt always work, sometimes its just your mood. if anyone has more tips on how to keep the "feel" while producing it could be interesting |

like some dudes said before:
sing the melody/fx you would like to produce, while recording it to pc or other recorders.
Then try to write it to midi, and if you forget it then turn on the wav you have recorded, it will remind you immediately your ideas. When you write to midi, use any synth preset and later tweak it. The notes are the main thing as a first step only.
This is the best and effective way.
Btw, it's a very common problem for non experienced producers (biggenrs), and even sometimes old ones fall here.
when you write the midi, keep all channels silent including kick bass, this is in order to keep you focused, once you are done, turn on all channels and listen to the result.
- it doesn't matter if you in high feelings/mind state or not, that method works super dooper
- but its better to train your brain generating creative ideas without drugs…coz you can't be in high feelings/mind state 24 hours… all the year non stop, its not healthy.
even if you fall many times and feel frustrated, yeah it breaks your inspiration.
But the key for success is keeping on and fighting your failures, the more you train the more you become quickly in writing music = it becomes kinda intuition.
Good luck fellow
