The Beat Generation, also known as the beat movement, were a group of American writers who emerged in the 1950s. Among its most influential members were Gary Snyder, the radical poet Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs and Jack Kerouac.
The major Beat writings include Jack Kerouac's On the Road, Allen Ginsberg's Howl, and William Burroughs' Naked Lunch. Both Howl and Naked Lunch became the focus of obscenity trials in the United States that helped to liberalize what could be legally published.
Personally just finished reading these 3 brilliant books!! A vivid take on wanderlust!!Greatly influenced by William Blake and Tom Wolfe(Electric Acid Kool Aid Test)

I lovbe the three authors a lot. Desolation Angels is my fav book from Kerouac.
"The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures." |

Back when I read as many Beats as I could I always found it a fulfilling and satisfying experience. The Beats were so adventurous; I think they liked to have fun. Also to Gary Snyder - big shout out, for environmental consciousness!! Blessings upon the Beats - I fnd them interesting. They would probably go to a party I figure. That would be cool I bet. Trust in trance, MC |
