hey,
i'm new on the block as far as trance goes but i do know shive quite closely,matter of fact i'm a student a bharatnatyam(shiva's favoured<natraja>).
i wanted to know more bout the standard equipments used to produce trance.see coz of the art form i learn i stay in one of the lonliest parts of the world(trancewise),so, there isn't really anyone who cud teach me.it'd great if u guys cud help me out.
also,i u cud give a comprehensive insight on the TB303.

(the basics things)
try to buy a good stable pc (p4 etc)
get a good sound card like : luna , delta
get the cubase , sound forge (softwares)
ram 256 and up
and there u go , u have the basics :)!

use audio, as in a computer with softwares and virtual synthesizers. get a proper sound card and some descent speakers and monitors along with the programs and large CPU and u r in buisiness.

On the other hand, if you can afford it all, get a Mackie mixing console, an acoustic room, some synths (Virus, Q, Korg, Yamaha), samplers, and your in business once again.

about the TB303?
For those who don't know what a TB-303 is here is a small explanation :

The TB-303 a.k.a. BassLine is a 'pocket' and very primitive analog synthesizer. Why 'pocket' ? Because of it's real small size (about 30x15 cm), why 'primitive' ? only 1 VCO (square/sawtooth selectable), a privitive envelope with the decay only and now way to play it with a normal keyboard or CV/GATE : to create sounds you have to deal with a so-called-pattern-based sequencer (uhm...) of up to 16 notes/line!
