Nice one, I struggle with melodies and percussion/fx now, the bass lost somehow its mystery as it isnt so fat on monitors with more proper room treatment(rockwhool packages behind and the bass of tracks flattens really, not that wide anymore but really narrow mostly e.g sonic entity, durs)

your bass sounds a little bit far away in my ears and room but nothing that really bothers me

some questions...did you make the acidous sound that plays after the first little break and the following big reverb conga shot yourself, if so could you give a roughly explanation of how to

after the the second break there comes the most famous prog stab sound I've heard so far, is it a sample or selfmade? cause I really love this sound but want to synthesize it, I come close but it doesnt have that power

anything cocnercing melodies? I mean do you just try or are there some "secrets" for catchy and fitting melody parts/ typical chord types

I have a wake idea that this stab sound is the chord in a track mostly and thats why it gets used so often?          https://soundcloud.com/noordzee-laborant

Glad you like it mate.

The sound in the first break I dont remember what it was but it was for sure a sample which I reversed and stretched. As for the conga it was just a dry conga sample with a ton of reverb on it. Not sure which stab sound you are referring to? As for melodies no secrets! Hahaa..just looping sections and playing through. This time I was synthesising on the fly with a init patch and found I could make fitting sounds without going through thousands of presets.

just before the second break ends, there is this rise sound and then "dap dap dap dap" (the stab) and then bass/kick come in again

But after I wrote this post before I sat down to synthesize it once more, and was quite ok with the result, a inverted chord on the lower octaves, short decay, about the filter dunno bandpass or lowpass and pluck and in the end some disto to make it meaty

yes really like the conga with reverb but has been heard with zyce, nevertheless it's also nice for not conga sounds,so to have a different reverb which is really different from the rest of reverbs

also like to synthesize my stuff myself, gets easier with time(zaps aint problem no more after lots of tweaking around, especially long notes with lfo bring nice results, thanks lucidity), today I was able to to make a padlike acid sound that has a rising filter in it to make it cut through butter;) just like I heard it once in a track, but about proggy melody stuff I'm not sure about waveforms etc. whats best for this sound etc.

I just realized today too that I can invert a pluck to so open filter and then via mod env close it, also very nice...maybe something to get that stab sound too
