hm, i don´t have a "pitch bend" function in cubase 4 when i do right click. i just have "pitch shift" that shiftes all the sample and doesn´t make a pitch shift. i tried to do a shift an then drwa the automation but there seems to be none available for shifts?? can somebody tell me how to do in cubase 4? in wavelab its very simple as you guys say.. but would be more nice to make in c4 directly...
cheers |

hey, in sx3 it works like this:
click on pitch shift function, when you click it there are 2 "setcards" (i mean these typically things for windows where you are able to click on other options on the top of the frame) one to transpond and another for envelope... click on the envelope and voila... there you have the pitchbend function... dunno if its different in 4...
boom

thanks for the quick answers...
@jeto, dunno if i really get what u are aiming at?! pitch an audio file with envelope? for a synth sound i now you can make envelope controlled pitch shifts.. but for an audio clip in cubase?
@x.tract: sounds good. hope its the same in c4, but i guess so... |

@klippel
Try this, right click on the audio file, process, pitch shift, click o the tab "envelope" Set the range to say 16 semitones, now you can draw envelopes on the audio file, this will pitch shift it up or down, Process. I hope this helps... Maybe you knew it already.

You can also just do it in cubase...
Bounce a very long single tone and pitch shift it

Yes this is the best and the most easiest way. This way u can get those rising sweeps on anything. Be it synth, atmo ,fx. All u need to do is ... take a synth ... and take it upto how many bars as u want it. Export it as audio and then pitchbend it. Plus add a lil reverb to it. This way u get the best result.
Happy bending

That's exactly what I was thinking about writing as I was reading through the posts

so to get a sweep using logic, i would use a synth like es1? And create a saw tooth wave or sine wave, then apply reverb & pitch bend effects to it?
Can anyone elaborate for logicusers as ive tried this and it just makes quite a boring, annoying sound - not a nice sweep at all.
Is there a certain synth i should use in logic?
I've alsotried loads of eq/envelope/compression too and it doesnt make the sound any more like a sweep. |
