this way sux a bit imo...needs lots of fx work either, and using 2 progs for it looks like a bit of pain in the ass
I would stick just with soundforge for it...oh and btw, dont just take white noize for it...u can get great stuff also out of simple sawtooth or triangle waves

haha sorry, dont get me wrong...I didnt want to offend you or so
all I wanted to say is that you dont need to put it in ableton cause you can do all this with soundforge...makes it even easier for beginners
and like I said, just white noise is IMO a bit too harsh sounding...I rather like other waves, or with a bit of white noise added
if you like that sound better and think that way is easier for you cause you use a lot of ableton, go for it...I just wanted to tell my opinion, maybe a bit too harsh either

You can also just do it in cubase...
Bounce a very long single tone and pitch shift it

That was the first synth I programmed myself to do the sweep/rise/gold ray thing you're describing. I usually just end up pitch bending long audio sounds though.

You just read my mind Right-click an audio clip in cubase and select pitch bend, then you can draw in the the pitch-bend curve and it gives you a lot of control. Besides single tones it also works well with reversed reverb sounds.

Yes this is the best and the most easiest way. This way u can get those rising sweeps on anything. Be it synth, atmo ,fx. All u need to do is ... take a synth ... and take it upto how many bars as u want it. Export it as audio and then pitchbend it. Plus add a lil reverb to it. This way u get the best result.
Happy bending
