Just wanted to thank all the people here who take the time to answer questions, discuss and give their opinion and methods on how to do things in various ways. this part of the forum is one of more substance filled and is very comprehensive.
a few names that stand out to me are:
Colin OOOD, kaz, EYB, Mike A, Pavel, Mubali, Kitnam..... i could keep going but the list is very long.
Thank you again

Thanx Gadi, wish i had more time to help... And i'd add Zildoggo and Anakoluth as well to the list.
Too bad that a lot of ppl that were here in the beginning left the forum, like Nectarios and C3PO.

No worries, it's a good feeling to be able to share knowledge. I used to be less willing to do so - why should I tell people in 5 minutes what it's taken me 15 years to learn - but I realised that it's not what you know that matters, but what you do with the knowledge you have. Even if I tell someone everything I know they'll still not write music like I do, and many things require years of practise anyway (like training your ears), so why not help them instead to make music the way they want to?
I actually make most of my living at the moment from teaching music technology rather than making music (KAZAA IS KILLING THE SCENE! lol) so sometimes this forum is a little like being back at work... but I still write and release a lot and I have learned stuff here that I didn't know before too... what goes around comes around!
Keep sharing the love, people...

Nice post Surrender! I agree, a lot of people in your list have helped me a lot as well. I think this forum has improved my music making tremendusly. Making music is a constant learning process so this forum is a invaluable tool. Thanks to all the music makers and the dreamers of dreams. Peace

Looks like a post for the end but this forum is keep growing up and really help everybody involved,
Colin i'm really agree with your words- at the far past i would'nt so happy to share knowledge with everybody(in my profession- computers for 12 years) which was a very kidy thought like i was afraid someone will know better then i do- totaly bulshit, anyway i think that the world is based on knowledge and mostly it's for sale- but if more and more of us will invest even one hour of our lifetime back to world in any kind of profession without thinking getting something back- i think it will make a better world- sounds big?? i don't think so,
Peace

Mainly I teach schoolkids, from the ages of 9-17... we start with eJay, work our way through Magix Music Maker and Acid and end up with Reason, Ableton Live and Cubase SX. I work for local government and teach in schools for about 14 hours a week over 4 days.
I made VERY sure to keep Mondays off!
It's ok - the hourly rate is excellent and they give me a pretty good laptop, RME Multiface, keyboard controller and all the music software I need - but it's at a really basic level and sometimes I get frustrated by it... If I have to make my living by teaching MT I'd rather be teaching more advanced stuff to be honest.
I also do private tuition sometimes, and have done a few things over the net (although it's a lot easier when you're both looking at the same screen!)
