Texas Faggott (TF) is the creation of Tim Thick and Pentti Slayer. The band was founded in 1996 and originally featured a third member Francoise Faggott who is currently active in Squaremeat. The band has had numerous releases over the years.
After a release break of a couple of years and active gigging; TF return with a structured and streamlined release that still features their trademark smirking surprises when the listeners least expect it. The first single cut, Para Moncler, is a case in point. Suggestive croaking blended with the commanding rhythm results in a highly effective whole. Side B starts with the massive, maybe even epic sound of the Blue Light Special, a song for a big PA if ever there was one. Is there some secret message in this music? Probably. Are you being brainwashed and your personality replaced by someone else? Definitely!
The quirky and sometimes even gimmicky sound of TF has entered many people’s hearts permanently; one fan described it as “reminding me of the fun at the circus as a kid!” The power of the TF sound is a combination of straight full-on beats with simple yet beautiful melodies that are scrambled by sounds made by man, machine or some previously unknown source.
The CD album ”Pilluminati Cunt-Roll” will appear in late spring.
