Having heard just one track from tetrameth (the quickening) on "intelligent manipulation" was enough for me to buy this album. Didnt bother to listen to samples either. Psychological Pyrotechnics moves in that same mysterious atmosferic and trippy way and i enjoy it a lot. A solid album for sure!

cheers!            Peace, Love, Death metal

I'm very impressed by this album. 99% of what I listen to is full-on stuff. That is also what I make. Most progressive stuff just bores me immensly. Then someone pointed me to this album...

The words, intelligent, groovy, organic, tastefull, psychedelic and musical come to mind. There is alot of attention to detail.

The rythms sound played or intelligently programmed instead of just looped ad nauseum. The sounds flow nicely into each other and form a nice whole.

The songs keep evolving and developing. It sounds like Pete Hayes has put alot of work and sould into this album.

From an engineering point of view this sticks out from ALL the recent releases I have heard because the sound isn't compressed/limited to death like everything else. It is dynamic and it breathes. Producers and masterers take note!!! I can listen to this nice and loud without any ear fatigue. The way well produced music should be.

Kudos to Pete Hayes for resisting the temptation to join the loudness race.

For the person that complained about weakish bass, get new speakers. The bass is in the sub region which alot of speakers won't be able to reproduce. I'm curious to hear this on a big PA rig. (In the mean time I'll be bringing it to the various studios I work at to listen with the big massive subs )

Thumbs up from me!

That was me you're referring to. And thank you, I think I have better speakers than most people that come around here. I just think the basslines are pretty weak no matter the speakers. And that's my opinion, has nothing to do with good speakers.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. Hi AcidHive. The question is wether your speakers go down low enough. Not how they reproduce mid and high-frequencies.

Do you mean weak musicaly or weak in level? If you mean the first then what I write below is irrelevant.

Of course it could just be a taste thing but there is quite a bit of subbass in this album. It might also be a perception thing. Having more overtones to the bass (the lines in Tetrameth are filtered quite low) can give the impression of more bass.

I'm not suggesting that your perception is worse than mine but maybe that your taste tends more towards the direction of more low-mid frequencies supporting the lower frequencies than me. (At least for this album).

Reasonable enough, but then why this discussion? If you would've kept quiet none of this would ever have occurred.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

Errr because the bass itself is not weak! Your comments could give people the wrong impression.

I could also just have written: Get better speakers.

It's nice to know that you credit my reviewing abilities as such that people would consider not buying an album because of me rating it low.

But I really don't care what anyone else thinks. What matters to me is my own opinion. In my perception this album is weak in more departments than the bass alone so I say what I have on my mind. Can't live with it? Great. But don't start discussing this with me since it just won't work. We get a lot of grief that way, I'm not going to change my point of view, you're not going to budge either, so let's just leave it.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. recently heard this aussie cd and i was literally thrown off my seat,wtf......such a deep innovative and simply superb psy sound arrangement...how did i miss it this long.
i just love the changes in every track wich makes u think if this is the next track.this is the xact way how psy soundz shud b,lota unxpected changes wich plays with ur mind not like the recent kiddy full-on trance wich is so predictable.
so many different new styles are arranged in a xcellent way wich gives a whole new way of approach to psy trance leaving a new road for evolution.this cd mite not hve bone crushing beats to make every1 dance in the floor but its fat enuf to bloat the brains of a serious listner in a open beautiful place.
i think the reason for the mixed reviews earlier is because its much ahead of its time.i sincerely advise some psy music experts to have a listen to this now.it'l make a lota sense.
