IMHO Tetraktys is much better at making storming night tech-tunes than groovy progressive morning ones. i really liked some of the harder tunes at the beginning of the album, but i got completely lost about half-way through. |

Russ said it best..
i was very disapointed that they turned towards proggy stuff. (like everyone else these days)..
said that the evil music isn't being produced anymore.. In fact, the whole subMachine crew took a bad turn with the release of "lighten".. since that release, things have been, well, prog...

Now, over 3 months after the release it's still as good as when I first commented on it. Too many new releases fade away too fast, but this one is still fresh.
Now up to a 9/10 score - and one of my favourite albums in 2004. Buy it! DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

i mainly agree with Russ & Clown.
The majority of my favorites tracks belongs to the 1st part, indeed i like'm all with a special mention for Forge.
In the second part, i only retain Champagne for the fun build up & the tropical-exotic feeling, i would add Migration for the special atmosphere which emanates from it.
So i'm although a bit dissapointed , i just hope Tetrak will keep cooking some little dark tech-prog flavoured stuffs from time to time between his more melodic/housey tunes. |

Agreed. I just got this one recently and it has pleasantly suprised me. By going from dark to light the album creates an atmosphere rarely seen in artist's albums nowadays. This actually sounds like there was some thought put in the tracklisting, whereas other releases sound like a collection of artist singles. Great use of padsounds also, creating a rich soundscape you can sink into. Masterfully done!

This is by far the best album I've stumbled accross in far too long, just up my street. I haven't heard anyone make sounds like that since the Delta, but this is fresh and new!!!!!!!!! I love the whole album and I hope to hear more new inspirational stuff from the tech trance scene. Does anyone have any suggestions because all of my favorite artists have been around for decades.
Vincent I will be in touch about getting you over to England ASAP, Bekka gave me your contact details @ Transit (ooooooooooh what a set!!!!) shame we didn't meet I had to disapear early from that one. I'll be in touch.......... |
