Wasn't sure where to put this, but I figured since we all love music and some here are producers, I thought this might be fun for all.

It takes about 25 minutes and you'll need sound enabled.

Afterwords, discussion time

Yes, should have mentioned that. Don't think it's too big a deal to register though...

Register here, register there in order to participate in all kinds of non important surveys. Nope I wont register so BBC or some company buying my e-mail address can spam me with endless offers.           www.beatagency.dk

Whatever, the tests are fun to do - testing your ear for music and for rhythm. I guess if you're not a musician you wouldn't have any interest or curiosity.

btw, I use one email address just for this sort of thing only, not one I use for real. Thought that was common practice these days.

I am indeed an musician.. Just dont want to hand out my e-mail address (fake one or not) to all the new fun surveys on the net.

If I did not have to register I might do the "test".           www.beatagency.dk

The test is fun I scored high except on the social creativity score.

Guys you get to tap the tempo on your spacebar!
haha what can i say, you test your melody memory and if you can notice small note differences when melody snippets plays in different octaves...

The most challenging for me was to put small snippets into genres, only got two groups completely right, other than that i mixed 2 pop songs with two hiphop songs...

it amazes me every time when people are SO reluctant to 'register'.... I mean, what, you telling me you don't have some bullshit email address to send all the garbage to?!?!?

** this is a news flash, email is free**           "....or is it???"

will check it out soon, seems nice , however some things about musicality that i find interesting is this.

If a person can sing good and take different tones correctly with singing does that mean that they generelly have more musicality than those who cant sing ?

I dont think so, but i think there are som ties with being able to sing and being musicaly gifted, although i think one can be a very gifted and musical person but not being able to sing good.

And also people being able to repeat a song directly when hearing it,or being able to hear exactly which notes that are being played by listening to it.Sure , that is musical skills, but i think being a composer ( producer ) is also much about fantasy, story telling, creating etc and not only about the "inborn musicality" ,being able to hear understand which notes being played just being listening etc.

Also the word musicality is a very big word, almost as big as the word intelligence , which we all know works in different ways.Perhaps people can be musical in different ways.
