i think the same calibre card is Hoontech's SoundTrack DSP24, and it's much more affordable
(including expansion bracket for optical I/O if you need )

the soundtrack DSP24 with digital in / out has the same price as terratec's. so there is no relevant diffrent!

but do you know if this card (terratec's) would be worth the money? what about the quality? any experiences?

thx & cheers

I don't know about that specific soundcard but I have a TerraTec 512i or something like that. It's not on the music making computer, I use a Delta 66 for that. It has an optical output for MD and stuff and works at 16/48.

sorry, you're right, i got confused with a table.
thought ewx costed about 300$ (it's another card):
Terratec  Audiosystem EWX 24/96 - $169.00 US
Hoontech  SoundTrack Audio DSP24 Value - $128 US
optional bracket (optical&analog I/Os) - $50 US
ewx apears even cheaper, though u can't give up optical i/o on terratec card.

both these cards use Envy24 chipset, so u need only to compare the drivers (ASIO), and app specific conflicts.

i'm sorry i can't speak from my own experience, but what i'd do:
look the www for driver related problems in both cards with the apps u use, and compare quantity of different problems.

look in their both ftp sites for drivers, and count how many updates they release. the one who has less "updates" has usually better drivers.
(unless they're bankrupt :)
