Hey. How is called such a part in tune where you have like a mini brake.

Lets say that you have 32 beats (kick hits 32 times). Often in the last 2-4 beats you mute the kick/bassline and you put drum solo, some other solo.

so it is kind of a miniature break or buildup but it must have its own name or term, what is it...?


E.g. listen to this (2min 30s - 2min 32s is the kind of thing I mean).

Actually most people would call that a transition.

A bridge could be what you call a breakdown in a rock or pop song - you know, that extra section with a different progression that might come between the second chorus and the last verse, etc.           Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room. ~Kurt Vonnegut
