Interesting, it was about 75/25 last year (according to your post about FLAC trends).
This doubling of the lossless downloads' share - do you think it's about cheap huge hard drives people have at home or because more DJs use Ektoplazm releases in their sets? |

Even though something on the lines of Ektoplazm is very tempting.
Maybe we will incorporate it sometime in the future.
Right now its about helping labels push physical cds..

Physical cd's are dead, realize it before you take the wrong direction...

So, here I am, your potential customer. I can buy a CD from already existing Web stores, search for it on Amazon and Ebay, download it from a pirate site or live without it and get more free music from Ektoplazm instead.
What is it about your site that will make me forget about these options and buy a CD from you? |

You still haven't answered my question (which is the main question here, IMO): why would anybody buy CDs from your store?
If you cannot answer "Why", there is no sense in discussing "How". |

With all respect, it doesnt matter what you or I think, what matters is the sales figures and those say that original CD's are fading away, like vynil once, like tapes once etc etc.
Man even Panasonic is killing the technics 1200 and Vynil purists are much much hardcore than cd's lovers.
Its evolution baby

agreed^ , Main Coon .. he wants to distribute cd`s exclusively in india where the high shipping costs keep people away , thats the thinking anyway , but its flawed , hell most folks wont buy even if you waive shipping costs and give a discount .. its too much work for no reward man , too few people buy cds these days , sad maybe , but true none the less .. enjoy ekto , slsk etc .. or go beatport etc if u feel you must contribute some monies etc , basically .. dont do it , the numbers just dont add up

Why...the website would provide a cheaper way to get you the cds that you want. In India folks would save on international shipping and duty. Thts basically why

Well.. your half right and half wrong.
I am not doing this for the riches. There is no money to be made here except by labels who are stuck with 100s of copies of some their cds..
I feel that psytrance is bigger than it ever has been in India for many years.. So yeah I don't think that my thinking is flawed.... things could change cause I am trying to make buying a cd really easy...
peace
